Talcott Garland, a law professor at an Ivy League institution, finds his tranquil existence turned upside down following the sudden death of his father, Judge Oliver Garland, who supposedly succumbed to a heart attack. As suspicions arise, Talcott's sister Mariah, a persistent conspiracy theorist and ex-journalist, challenges the official narrative. She believes that their father, a once-promising Black Supreme Court nominee, may have fallen victim to a sinister plot. Set against the backdrop of political intrigue and the exclusive Martha's Vineyard, the story unfolds as family secrets and hidden agendas come to light.
