One Eight Seven (1997)

Following a near-fatal stabbing by a student, educator Trevor Garfield relocates from New York to Los Angeles, seeking a fresh start. He takes on a position as a substitute teacher, only to find himself in a chaotic educational environment dominated by aggressive bullies and a timid administration fearful of legal repercussions. As he grapples with the dysfunctional school system, Garfield's frustration and despair begin to take a toll on his mental state, pushing him to the brink.
