The Sea Chase (1955)

As World War II erupts, German freighter captain Karl Ehrlich prepares to depart Sydney, Australia, aboard the Ergenstrasse. Despite being an anti-Nazi, he takes pride in his heritage and aims to evade a British warship hot on his trail. Among his crew is Elsa Keller, a woman tasked with returning to Germany, who harbors vital secrets.
