Louise, a directionless 28-year-old from Brooklyn, grapples with life after a breakup and her unacknowledged depression. A drunken mishap results in a broken hip, forcing her into a physical therapy ward populated by older patients. Here, she encounters Antonina, a cantankerous Polish woman who speaks no English. Despite their initial reluctance, Louise takes a job caring for Antonina. Through their unlikely bond, both women confront the realities of aging and the necessity of personal growth, reminding us that maturity is an inevitable part of life.
