Music for Millions (1944)

Six-year-old Mike moves in with her expectant sister, Babs, a string bass player in José Iturbi's orchestra. With the male members drafted into service, the ensemble is becoming predominantly female. As they tour the country, Babs' colleagues band together to conceal a telegram from the War Office, ensuring that Babs can focus on her pregnancy. Their camaraderie highlights the challenges faced by women during wartime, blending heartfelt moments with the trials of pursuing music in a changing world.
