The Crying Woman (1979) (1979)

Jacques comes back to his secluded hillside home in Provence, reuniting with his wife Dominique and daughter Lola after years apart. Upon his arrival, he finds Dominique in tears, having previously asked him to leave to shield him from her pain. As he grapples with her overwhelming emotions, it's clear that she senses his affection for another woman. Unable to cope with the heartache, Dominique ultimately decides to send him away once more, leaving Jacques to confront the emotional turmoil that has driven them apart.
