Frozen River (2008)

Following her husband’s abandonment, struggling mother Ray Eddy faces financial turmoil and desperately seeks a stable home for her children. In her quest for quick money, she teams up with Lila, a widowed Mohawk woman who has found a way to make ends meet by illegally transporting immigrants from Canada to the United States via the St. Lawrence River.
