Trace of Stones (1966)

On a chaotic East German construction site, poor planning and supply shortages are the norm. Foreman Hannes Balla relies on unorthodox tactics to keep things moving. Enter Werner Horrath, a new Socialist Unity Party secretary tasked with taming Balla’s unruly crew. The mission looks hopeless when both men vie for the attention of engineer Kati Klee. But when Kati becomes pregnant by married Horrath, he risks expulsion from the party—until Balla unexpectedly defends him.
