Peter Ibbetson (1935)

After the death of his mother, Peter Ibbetson is forced to leave Paris and his beloved friend Mary to live with a harsh uncle in England. Fast forward to adulthood, Peter has become a dedicated architect, consumed by his work. While collaborating with the Duke and Duchess of Towers, he reconnects with the duchess, who turns out to be Mary.
