Phyllis Love

Phyllis Anne Love, born on December 21, 1925, in Des Moines, Iowa, was an accomplished actress known for her contributions to both film and theater. She attended Roosevelt High School, where she formed a close friendship with fellow actress Cloris Leachman. After honing her craft in local and regional theater, Love pursued formal training at the prestigious Actors Studio in New York, beginning in 1948.

Love made her cinematic debut in 1950, portraying a juvenile delinquent in the film *So Young So Bad*, featuring Paul Henreid and Rita Moreno. However, her most memorable performance came in 1956 when she took on the role of "Mattie Birdwell" in William Wyler's acclaimed film *Friendly Persuasion*. Throughout the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, she made numerous guest appearances on television but found her true passion on Broadway. Over the course of her career, Love starred in eight productions and won the New York Charles Derwent Award for Best Featured Actress in 1951 for her role as "Rosa Delle Rosa" in the original staging of *The Rose Tattoo*.

After stepping away from acting in the early 1970s, she adopted the name "Osanna." Phyllis Love passed away on October 30, 2011, in Menifee, California, due to complications from Alzheimer's disease, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable performances.
