Born Zhang Yonggang, Hei Zi is a Chinese actor who has built a respected career in film and television. He first gained widespread attention for his role as Ouyang Feng in the 2003 television adaptation of *The Legend of the Condor Heroes*, a performance that showcased his ability to portray complex, morally ambiguous characters. He later appeared in *The Return of the Condor Heroes* (2006), further solidifying his reputation in the wuxia genre.

Beyond martial arts dramas, Hei Zi has demonstrated versatility across historical and modern productions. He delivered a compelling performance in *The Qin Empire* (2009), and took on the role of the villainous Wu Yazi in *Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils* (2013).
