Derrick Green

Derrick Green is an American vocalist best recognized as the frontman of the Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura, a role he assumed in 1997. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Green brought a powerful, versatile voice to the group, helping to steer its sound through a new era following the departure of original singer Max Cavalera. His tenure with Sepultura has yielded a string of acclaimed albums, including *Against* (1998), *Nation* (2001), and *Roorback* (2003), which showcased his ability to blend aggressive growls with melodic clarity. The band’s 2006 release, *Dante XXI*, a concept album inspired by Dante Alighieri’s *Divine Comedy*, earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Metal Album, marking a significant achievement in Green’s career.
